Northwestern University Fathers' Involvement in Healthcare Study
Fathers are important to their child's health but are underrepresented in pediatric and developmental research. Most research focuses on mothers and children in care-taking activities while few studies have included fathers.
The purpose of this research study is to understand how fathers are involved in their toddler's health and to obtain feedback from fathers regarding the best ways to ask questions about father's involvement in their child’s healthcare. Information from this project will be used to develop questionnaires used to measure father involvement in their child’s health. Approximately 100 fathers will be enrolled in this project.
Requirements: ° Be a father of a child between the ages of 3 and 5 years old not yet enrolled in school (pre-school enrollment is acceptable) ° Be at least 18 years of age ° Read and speak in fluent English
Time Commitment: ° Approximately 10 minutes for the initial questionnaire. Approximately 45-60 minutes for the follow-up phone interview.
Eligible participants will receive a $20 Amazon® gift card after completion of the follow-up phone interview.
